Privacy Policy

Effective June 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Studio Momo Inc. ("Studio Momo," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use the Studio Momo platform — the websites, booking pages, customer accounts, and admin tools we operate at studiomomo.app and on the custom domains and subdomains of the independent studios that use our software (each, a "Studio"). It applies to visitors, customers who book or purchase from a Studio, and Studio staff who administer their account.

Our role: platform and processor

Studio Momo provides the software each Studio uses to run its business. When you create an account, book a class, or buy a class card from a Studio, that Studio is the operator of its program and decides how it contacts and serves you. Studio Momo processes your information to provide the platform on the Studio's behalf, and also uses limited information for its own purposes as described below (for example, to secure and improve the service).

Information we collect

  • Account information. Your name and email address, and — if you sign in with Google — the basic profile information (name, email, profile photo) that Google returns. We request only the minimum sign-in scopes needed to identify you; we do not read your Gmail, contacts, files, or other Google data.
  • Bookings and purchases. The classes, events, memberships, class cards, and rentals you book or buy from a Studio, along with attendance and check-in history.
  • Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; we receive limited transaction details (such as amount, status, card brand, and last four digits) needed to fulfill and reconcile your order.
  • Communications. Messages you send us or a Studio, and your email and SMS subscription and opt-out preferences.
  • Usage and device data. Standard log and analytics data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring links, collected to operate, secure, and improve the platform.

Signing in with Google

We use Google Sign-In (via Firebase Authentication) so you can log in without creating a separate password. Google handles the authentication and shares only your basic profile (name, email, and photo) with us after you consent. We use this solely to create and secure your Studio Momo account, and we never receive your Google password. Signing in does not grant access to any other Google service; the optional Google Calendar integration described below is a separate connection that a Studio's administrator initiates and can revoke independently. You can review or revoke any access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Google Calendar integration

If a Studio chooses to connect its Google Calendar to Studio Momo — an optional feature used to manage room rentals and instructor private lessons — Studio Momo requests access to the following Google account data through Google's OAuth consent screen. So the Studio can pick which calendar represents each room or instructor, Studio Momo reads the list of calendars in the connected account (their names and IDs). Event data — the times, titles, and details inside a calendar — is only ever read or written on the specific calendars the Studio links to a room or an instructor.

  • See the list of calendars you're subscribed to (calendar.calendarlist.readonly) — to show you the calendars in your Google account so you can choose which one represents each rentable room or instructor, and to display which Google account is connected.
  • See the properties of those calendars (calendar.calendars.readonly) — to confirm a calendar you've linked is still reachable and to show its name back to you in your settings.
  • See the availability on calendars you have access to (calendar.events.freebusy) — to read free/busy times for the calendars you've linked, so the rental and private-lesson availability shown to your customers reflects your real calendar. This returns only busy time ranges, not the titles, guests, or details of your events.
  • View and edit events on your calendars (calendar.events) — to add a calendar event when a room rental or private lesson is confirmed, update it when the booking changes, and remove it when the booking is canceled, so your Google Calendar remains the source of truth. This scope also lets us list the events already on a linked calendar, so your staff can see a room's existing commitments inside Studio Momo. We read events only on the calendars you link — never on the other calendars in your account.

We deliberately do not request broad calendar read access (the calendar.readonly scope), which would let us download the contents of every calendar in your account. We ask only for the narrowest permission that covers each thing StudioMomo actually does.

How we store and protect this data. We store a Google "refresh token" for your account, encrypted at rest, solely so Studio Momo can perform the calendar operations above on your behalf. On a calendar you have linked to a room, we read the events in the date range your staff is viewing so we can show that room's existing commitments in the Studio Momo admin — including events your studio created directly in Google Calendar. We do not copy or retain those event contents beyond displaying them, we do not use them for any other purpose, and we never read or write events on calendars you haven't linked to a room or an instructor. You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from your Studio Momo admin settings, which revokes Studio Momo's access and deletes the stored token.

Studios that share a calendar instead of connecting one. Rather than completing the Google authorization above, a Studio may instead share an individual calendar directly with a Studio Momo service account from within Google Calendar. The same limits apply: we access only the calendars the Studio has shared with us and mapped to a room or an instructor, and we use them only for the availability and booking purposes described above. A Studio removes our access on this path by un-sharing the calendar in its own Google Calendar settings.

Limited Use. Studio Momo's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google Calendar data for advertising, and we do not sell it or transfer it to third parties except as necessary to provide the calendar features described above, comply with the law, or in connection with a merger or acquisition.

How we use your information

  • To create your account and let you sign in securely.
  • To process bookings, purchases, payments, refunds, and check-ins with the Studio you transact with.
  • To send transactional messages (order confirmations, receipts, schedule changes) and — where you have opted in — marketing emails or SMS from a Studio.
  • To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the platform, and to prevent fraud and abuse.
  • To comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

Who we share information with

  • The Studio you transact with. A Studio can see the account, booking, purchase, and attendance records for its own customers — but never the records of another Studio's customers.
  • Service providers. Vendors that power the platform under contract, including Stripe (payments), Google / Firebase (authentication and hosting), and our email and SMS delivery providers. They process your information only to provide their service to us.
  • Legal compliance. If required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or Studio Momo.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. No mobile information — including phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, and text-messaging consent — will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Cookies and analytics

We and the Studios use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your cart, and measure how the platform is used. A Studio may enable its own analytics tools (such as Google Analytics or advertising pixels) on its site; that data is governed by the Studio's own configuration and the relevant provider's policies. Most browsers let you control or block cookies through their settings.

How long we keep your information

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the platform, then retain it for the period required to comply with our legal, tax, accounting, and consent-proof obligations. You may request earlier deletion subject to those legal retention requirements.

Your choices and rights

  • Access and correction. You can view and update your account details from your account page, or by contacting us.
  • Deletion. You can request deletion of your account and personal information, subject to legal retention limits.
  • Marketing opt-out. Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any message, and reply STOP to opt out of SMS. Transactional messages (such as receipts) may still be sent.
  • Revoke Google access. Manage or remove Studio Momo's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].

Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. Data in transit is encrypted using TLS, payment data is handled by Stripe under PCI-DSS, and access to stored data is controlled. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

The platform is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Where a Studio enrolls a minor, it does so as the minor's parent/guardian or with their consent. If we learn we have collected a child's information without proper consent, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Effective" date above. Continued use of the platform after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
