If your site uses the classic editor

Publish your site

Take your website from "coming soon" to live, once the checklist says it is ready.

Most studios use the newer site editor. Read the guide for the newer editor.

  1. Step 1: Know what visitors see until you publish

A new studio's site starts unpublished. You and your staff see the whole site; everyone else sees a "coming soon" page. A banner at the top of every page says "Your site is not published yet" until you publish.

  2. Step 2: Open the publish checklist

Not in the admin menu: it opens from the "Publish checklist" link on the banner at the top of every page, until your site is live.

The checklist has two parts. "Needed before you publish" must be done before you can publish: "Logo or brand colour", "Your own page content" (a published page you have changed from the starter one) and "Something on the schedule" (a class or event coming up).

"Needed to sell online" is optional for publishing: "Something to buy" and "Online payments". Without them visitors can see your site but cannot buy anything online.

Each item says "Done" or "Not yet", with a link to the screen that finishes it.

  3. Step 3: Publish

Not in the admin menu: it opens from the "Publish checklist" link on the banner at the top of every page, until your site is live.

Once everything under "Needed before you publish" is done, click "Publish site". Your site is live straight away and the banner goes away.

Publishing cannot be undone from the admin: to take a live site down, email StudioMomo.
