Before you start

This needs Revenue & Tax switched on. An admin turns it on in Settings, under Features.

  1. Step 1: Choose the month

In the admin menu: Money, then Revenue & Tax

The report opens on "Last month". Pick another "Period", or "Custom range" and both dates; the end date is included. Everything is counted in your studio's time zone.

  2. Step 2: Read the three figures

In the admin menu: Money, then Revenue & Tax

"Received" is the money that came in from orders, less refunds that went through. "Redeemed" is the value of classes students used from what they had prepaid. "Outstanding" is the prepaid credit students still hold, at the start and at the end of the period: classes you owe them. The three are different money and are never added together.

Received does not include a membership's monthly renewals after the first payment, or door sales rung up at the Event Desk.

  3. Step 3: Check the proof before you file

In the admin menu: Money, then Revenue & Tax

"Liability roll-forward" checks the credit figures: opening balance, plus credit "Granted" (sold or given free), less credit used, expired or taken back, must equal the closing balance. "This ties exactly." means the figures agree. Filtered to one location it says "Not expected to tie", which is normal: credit is not kept per location. If it says the figures do not tie, do not hand them over until it is explained; email [email protected].

  4. Step 4: Download the detail

In the admin menu: Money, then Revenue & Tax

"Orders CSV" downloads every order in the period with its refunds and net amount. "Redemptions CSV" downloads every class used from prepaid credit and its value. Both cover exactly the period on screen.

  5. Step 5: Tax is not on this report

Despite its name, the report shows no tax: StudioMomo does not add or collect tax on your sales.
