Before you start
This needs Rentals switched on. An admin turns it on in Settings, under Features.
Step 1: Find a booking
In the admin menu: Team & spaces, then Rentals
The "Bookings" tab opens on "Upcoming" for "This Week". Switch to "Today" or "All", or use "Custom range", and search with "Search name or email". "Past" shows bookings that have already started.
Click a booking to see its details.
Step 2: Book a room for someone
In the admin menu: Team & spaces, then Rentals
Click "Direct Booking", choose the "Customer" and the "Room", set "Start", "End" and "Event Type", and click "Create Booking".
A booking made here is confirmed at once and no card payment is taken, so collect any payment yourself.
Step 3: Cancel a booking
In the admin menu: Team & spaces, then Rentals
From the booking's actions, choose "Cancel". For a paid booking, "Refund" defaults to a full refund; pick "No refund" to keep the money. If the booking starts within 48 hours the dialog says so, since your policy would refund nothing. Add a "Reason (optional)" and click "Cancel Booking".
For a booking of several dates (marked "Multi-date"), choose "Cancel dates…" and tick the dates to cancel. "Select all upcoming" leaves out dates inside 48 hours, and one go cancels at most 12 dates.
Step 4: Keep bookings up to date
In the admin menu: Team & spaces, then Rentals
A booking waiting for payment can be marked "Confirm" or "Mark Expired". A confirmed one can be marked "Mark Complete". "Resend confirmation email" sends the renter their confirmation again.
Step 5: Block time off
In the admin menu: Team & spaces, then Rentals
On the "Calendar" tab, click "Block Time", choose the "Room", give it a "Title", set "Start" and "End", and click "Block Time". Renters cannot book that time.
This only works for a room connected to a Google Calendar in its rental settings.
