Step 1: Set the check-in window
In the admin menu: Setup & help, then Settings, then Booking & Check-in
Every studio has this one. Fill in "Check-in opens (min before)" and "Check-in closes (min after)" to limit when a student can check in to a class, or leave them empty for no limit. Click "Save".
Staff marking people present from a class roster are never held to this window.
Step 2: Turn on the rules you need
The other rules on this page appear only once their feature is on in Features: Class Reservations, Liability Waiver, Private Lesson Scheduling, and Friends & Family Sharing.
Step 3: Set how reservations work
In the admin menu: Setup & help, then Settings, then Booking & Check-in
With reservations on, set "Reservation mode default" to "Optional" or "Required". While it says "Off", students cannot reserve.
Answer "Does anyone check people in?", and choose "What the schedule shows next to a class". Then set "Cancellation cutoff (hours)", "Enforcement" (what happens when a student cancels after the cutoff) and "Booking horizon (days)", and click "Save".
Step 4: Write your liability waiver
In the admin menu: Setup & help, then Settings, then Booking & Check-in
With the waiver on, students see it before their first purchase and sign by typing their name; a PDF copy is kept. Click "Insert starter template" to start from a draft, edit it to fit your studio, and click "Save". Until the text is filled in, students are not shown a waiver.
Tick "Email a copy of each signed waiver" to have each signed copy sent to you.
Step 5: Set private lesson rules
In the admin menu: Setup & help, then Settings, then Booking & Check-in
With private lesson booking on, "Private lesson booking" sets the "Cancellation cutoff (hours)", "Booking horizon (days)" and "Minimum notice (hours)" for lessons students book themselves. "Private lesson reminders" sets when the student and the instructor are reminded.
